From Sondra Lehr:

Dad Lehr was released from the hospital yesterday. The doctor thinks his weakness and internal bleeding were caused by the dosage of meds he was taking. Adjustments were made and Dad is feeling good.

(Orginal request from 10/19)

From Sondra Lehr:

Dad Chuck Lehr is in the hospital. He went yesterday because he was weak. They kept him overnight and will be doing some tests today. Mom isn't feeling well either, she has a sinus infection. At this time she is staying with Linda in Davenport and once dad leaves the hospital, he will be joining her.

10.22.2021

From Carl Baumer:

Please keep our friend, Brent Poff and his wife, Miranda in prayer. Brent was just (6:30am) taken to the hospital for an acute appendicitis attack.

Also for our friends who live in Michigan, Dennis and Pam Nash. Pam and their daughter will be traveling to Orlando by car the next few days, and then Dennis will fly down on Sunday. Dennis continues to need our prayers for complete healing from the diagnosis of lung cancer and other places. He is receiving immune therapy and starting to get better.

10.20.2021

From Lynn Knight:

Thank you for praying for my nephew Xander. The surgery was canceled because the surgeon himself had to have surgery. Please pray for the Lord's perfect timing on the surgery, with the right surgeons and medical team. Please pray for baby Xander's protection from this cyst and a complete healing in Jesus name.

(original email from Lynn's brother)

From Steve Hamel:

Please pray for my grandson Xander (16 months old). Xander has a cyst growing on the tip of his nose that has been spreading and rooting up into his brain. The specific type of cyst he has is called a Nasal Dermoid Cyst and requires a craniotomy (brain and skull surgery) along with nasal surgery on October 21st, 2021 to remove the roots and anything else that could be growing. This is classified as a very serious and highly intensive surgery. There is a go fund me page set up to raise funds for medical expenses. To learn more, click on the link below.

Now for some good news, my uncle was able to have the skin graft. It was very successful. He is now back home and has minimal pain. We are praying for complete healing with no infection.

Update on Emily Goodenow from Marne Stollenwerk:

Emily went for a routine oncology visit Monday. She is nauseated and dizzy so she's getting fluids now. She had some tingling in her legs Monday, but pain is controlled with Tylenol so far. She came off steroids from the weekend and it's wreaking havoc on emotions! She also has a poor appetite. These symptoms are a bit better than the days following her first chemo session, but prayers are truly appreciated.

From Karen Abell :

Asking for you to please pray for a resolution to a difficulty that I have been having with ELCOC (Early Learning Coalition) and 4C (Community Coordinated Care for Children) regarding the online portal that takes care of payment for our VPK students. This struggle has been going on since early September since we had to close our VPK classes due to COVID cases. I’ve had to recreate the calendar (too many times to count) and the classes, but there is a glitch in the online system that has been prohibiting these changes from occurring. This prohibits OTR from getting paid for VPK. This has been a challenge for almost two months now. This needs to be resolved ASAP. Please pray that they can get it resolved. I have been informed that two individuals are working on it this afternoon.

Thank you for joining me in prayer. This has been a great source of stress for me. I’m giving it to Him.

From Kay Walters:

Please be in prayer regarding my needing to move by the end of this month. No decisions have been made yet regarding where I can rent. There is a person that will be renting a house that is a few houses away from very close friends but the house is getting work done on it and the owner doesn't know if it will be done in time before I have to move out of my current rental. I'm praying the timing works out so I can stay in the same neighborhood and be near my close friends.

Pray also that once I find a place that the rent will not hinder me tithing what I currently tithe. I know God is able to provide.

From Robbie Ford:

Thank you for continuing to pray for our daughter-in-law Becca as she recovers from a C-section on 10/14. Tomorrow 10/20, just six days after the delivery of baby Hope, she begins chemo treatments again. Please pray all goes well.

10.18.2021

From the Goodenow Family:

Please share with prayer warriors. Emily went for routine oncology visit today. She is nauseated and dizzy so she's getting fluids now. She had some tingling in her legs today, but pain is controlled with Tylenol so far. She came off steroids from the weekend and it's wreaking havok on emotions! She also has a poor appetite. These symptoms are a bit better than the days following her first chemo session, but prayers are truly appreciated.

10.17.2021

From June Luxon:

My son, Rob, is having knee surgery tomorrow 10/18 at 9:00am. He’s been in a lot of pain. Praying for all to go well and quick recovery. Later he gets the other knee done. That Jesus works through the surgeon’s hands and anyone involved with working on him.

10.15.2021

From Marne Stollenwerk:

Round two complete

Praise God, chemo round two is over and Emily is home. Today, she received a Neulasta injection to boost her white blood cells. This is the injection that caused so much pain after the first round of chemo. Please pray that the dosage adjustments will prevent painful side effects this time. Overall, chemotherapy went well. Every round is a step closer to healing and the next round is scheduled for 10/27. God's hand is evident in the journey and Emily is working on a blog to help encourage others who may be facing health hardships. We will let you know when it goes live. Thank you for your continuous prayer and support. The results are obvious!

From Robbie Ford:

Becca delivered baby Hope (7lbs. 11 oz.) at 1:30am Thursday. Mom and her new daughter are bonding well and hoping to be home tomorrow. Pray protection from infection for Becca as she had to have a c-section delivery after a very long labor.

From Carl Baumer:

I want to thank all of you that have any kind of support for Kay Walters. As you know through this difficult time, she has had to deal with her husband's passing, and the need to move from their home of 18 years together. It has been a rental, and so the land owner needs to sell the property as soon as possible.

The prayer support has been absolutely wonderful, the people providing materials, prayers, trailers, packing support, in person visitation with Kay and any other support, thank you. You have been such a blessing.

Please continue to pray for Kay to find a home to rent by her given deadline.

10.12.2021

From Robbie Ford:

Update on Becca Ford: She is in the early stages of delivery. Pray she will be able to deliver vaginally so as to avoid infection from her low immunity from chemo. She previously had a c-section for their twins' delivery. Chemo will start back up a few weeks after delivery. Thank you for your continued prayers.

From Carl Baumer: Assistance Needed

Laura and Robin Blessington are needing a ride Monday to Sarasota for a doctor's appointment. It needs to be a car that they both can get into, not a van. Thank you very much. Laura's phone number is 407-826-4886. Please call Laura, today if at all possible. Thank you.

Today is the big push for Kay Walters to get the rest of the house packed. Helen Jones and Kay did a very good job packing together in the kitchen yesterday. Tom and I were able to bring some of the boxes to a person's home that opened up their garage to keep her boxes in until she moves. Please pray for discernment and understanding, also.

Update on Jerrod Blair from Peggy Denton:

Jerrod has had a great last couple days

He is on a PCU floor (the floor right before he goes to rehab) they are taking steps to start weaning off the trach so they can remove it (hence the final blood has) but that will take some time to do

From John and Pearl McLeod

Please pray for our daughter Karla who is having health problems. Pray that as she sees the doctor tomorrow he will be able to diagnose and remedy the problem.

From Gail Harris:

My nephew Sam went to be with our Lord Sunday night. No more cancer!

Please pray for his wife and family.

Thank you for your prayers.

From Sharon Gibboney:

Praise report from Debbie Stewart. The neuroma had not shrunk but the center was dead. Doctor moved the next MRI to a year. He was so pleased, better than he had expected. He said that the next time he sees her the neuroma will go from a grape to a raisin. Thank you Jesus and thank you for all your prayers and support.

Something to Celebrate for Emily Goodenow

Praising God this morning as the scan taken yesterday, to rule out pulmonary embolism, reveals a significantly smaller tumor! Dina said it looks about 1/5 the size of the original mass. In addition, one of the airways has opened back up. This is wonderful miraculous news! Thank you for praying and believing with us. In Christ there is hope and we are hoping Emily's healing will come well before the six months of anticipated chemo. Please continue to pray. This is great news, but it isn't over. God bless!

10.10.2021

From Marne Stollenwerk:

Here we go again

(Posted Oct 9, 2021)

Good morning, friends of Emily. As you can see from the new picture, Emily is hunkered down for chemo and some Gator football. Her physician noticed she was "catching her breath" so he has ordered a CTA to rule out a pulmonary embolism. Please pray that there is no issue, that she will have an uneventful experience with this round of chemo, that she will tolerate all of the medications well, and that the oncologists will see a reduction in the tumor. Thank you for your continued prayer and support. There is a long road ahead and I know the family is grateful to everyone who continues to walk this journey with them. You are appreciated!!

From Carl Baumer:

Jesus says love one another as I have loved you. Keep on loving, Carl

Please continue to keep Kay in your prayers for a place to live.

10.9.2021

From Ginny Morse:

Thanks to everyone's prayers I'm finally getting some relief from the pain in my back. I'm not sure how long I can sit yet but hope to be able to get to Bible Study on Wednesday.

10.7.2021

From Marne Stollenwerk:

Good morning praying friends, Emily Goodenow arrived at Mayo early this morning. They are processing her bloodwork, Covid test, etc... Chemo is scheduled at 12:15 tomorrow. Please continue to pray for healing and tolerance to the treatment. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

From Michelle Wilson

Good Morning Pine Castle Prayer Warriors,

Thank you to all the prayer warriors for the continuing prayers. I did have covid but recovered quickly. Now, I'm in a rehab facility recovering from sepsis & having physical therapy to help with my walking.

Asking for prayers to stop UTI's which leads to sepsis. Had fever of 102 recently. Thank you!

From Sondra Lehr:

I would like to ask for prayer for my uncle who had a bad motorcycle accident almost 2 months ago. He has two bad burns on his leg that were all the way down to the bone. He has been waiting for his wounds to heal enough to be able to begin the process of the skin grafts. He now has a bad staph infection and it is anticipated that the infection may have gotten all the way to his bone.

Please pray for the doctors to determine how bad it has gotten and for healing. Also for the massive pain he has been in to subside.

His name is DaVern and he is a Christian. I know he and my aunt will appreciate that others are praying for him.

(Update)

Praise!! It is infected, but the bone looks good. He is staying in the hospital for IV antibiotics and the doctor is hopeful that he will be able to do the first skin graft on Monday! Thank you for praying!

10.06.2021

From Jim and Robbie Ford:

Today is the day Becca, our daughter-in-law, is due to deliver "Hope". Please continue to pray for a safe delivery for mother and baby in God’s perfect timing.

From Betty Ostrom:

Please pray for continued healing for Ruth Cody, she had heart surgery a couple of weeks ago, and was moved to a rehab center last week. Today we found out she has pneumonia and her husband is trying to get her transported back to the hospital. She has not been able to eat and has little strength. Pray for her husband, Harold, for energy, peace and patience.  This is a couple in their 80's with 3 adult BlindDeaf children.

From Carl Baumer:

Dear prayer warriors I can thank you endless times for all the heartfelt prayers Spirit felt lead felt prayers that you have said for countless requests and praises! Thank you also for the prayer support for Kay Walters and her need for a place before the end of the month to rent.

What an amazing time when Jesus showed up in the distinct gifting and personalities of 12 people at Kay Walter's house yesterday. A huge dent was made in packing up her home personal items. More is to be done. Thank you so much for those that came out at such short notice and did such an amazing job! It was teamwork all the way!

For those of you that have not been able to help Kay Walters do some emergency packing, I extend to you a personal invitation to help Kay. Her personal items need to be packed up and moved into the garage by the weekend. The best times are in the afternoon and evening, but all times are available for you to come and help. Please call Kay at 407-497-4529 or myself, Carl, at 321-946-3242. I know of four people that will be there this afternoon and evening packing, we have room for more. Thank you for listening to the call of the Holy Spirit.

10.5.2021

Update From Peggy Denton on Jerrod Blair:

Jerrod is doing excellent. He is now off the vent, but has it in the room still in case he gets tired. He is on a trach collar (which is like us wearing a normal mask if we come into the hospital) those settings are only 1 notch away from being the lowest you can go before coming off. He just passed his swallow study so he is clear to eat and drink anything he would like. This also meant he was able to have his feeding tube taken out that went from his nose all the way to his small intestine. He was very happy! We have PT and OT everyday and he is improving drastically everyday. We walked over 238ft yesterday. Today was more work on dressing yourself and doing normal daily tasks. He was able to walk from the bed to the chair without a walker today also. The dr over all rehab came by and said he is doing amazing and as soon as he is cleared by the drs to leave the hospital we will be able to go to the rehab facility to intense rehab for about 2 weeks, then home!!!! We were also able to take out his A line so only an iv line that has nothing attached to it, only for emergencies.

From Ginny Morse:

I am in a lot of pain and it is hindering what I can do in a day. I see my scoliosis doctor this Thursday. Please pray for my healing and the extreme pain I'm experiencing. Please no phone calls at this time.

From Barbara H:

I am looking to rent a room by November 1st. I'd like to rent one bedroom and a private bathroom from someone living in a home in the Belle Isle or Conway area, zip codes 32812 and 32806. If you know of a place please call me at 407-697-5389

From Ric Schopke:

Juanita’s mother, Dorothy Green, went home to Jesus midday Sunday. The funeral will be in Haines City, where she lived for many years. Details are still being worked on. She had not been doing well. Juanita's brother from Port St. Lucie and his wife and Juanita and I visited her Saturday. During the last couple of weeks all her grandchildren spoke with her by phone. Juanita and I visited her after morning church Sunday and she passed soon after.

From Karen Williams:

Connie Coleman asked to be put on the prayer list as she has been diagnosed with stage three kidney disease and diabetes. If the kidney problem had been caught before it was stage three, it would have been reversible but now the medical prognosis is not reversible. However, God is a big God and nothing is impossible for him to heal. To God be the glory!

10.4.2021

From Carl and Mary Baumer

This is another great opportunity to put your faith into action. With God's help and leading, we are putting together a team of 12 people to pack up the rest of Kay Walters household items tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday, October 5th. The realtor and owner want to start showing the house this coming weekend. Everything needs to be packed up that's not absolutely necessary and put into the garage.

Please call me, Carl @ 321-946-3242, and let me know that you can join the team or how you can help. We have already had a number of people donate boxes and one person brought his covered trailer over to put boxes in.

Please be in prayer that the Lord will orchestrate a place for Kay to live that is near the church and within her budget.

From Robbie Ford:

Thank you to all who have prayed and continue to pray for our daughter in law, Becca Ford, who is pregnant with breast cancer. She is due in a few days, October 6. Last chemo before delivery was Sept 22. She is very, very weak and terribly uncomfortable. The Drs want her to have a vaginal birth to eliminate the potential for infection. She had a C-section with their 4 year old twins. Please pray for strength for her so she can get through delivery and beyond, that baby "Hope" is perfectly fine and for no COVID. Two praise reports: 1. Other classes at preschool for twins had COVID, the twins class has no COVID. PTL! 2. A nursing mother, who is a neighbor of mine, unbeknownst to me, has been freezing breast milk for Becca. PTL!... Since Becca starts up chemo again a week after baby Hope is born, she will be pumping and dumping her breast milk until after radiation which is after January. God is soooo good!

9.30.2021

Previous request from Carol Hartman (9/23):

9.26.2021

Update on Jerrod Blair From Peggy Denton:

Just a quick update as Megan is very busy at the hospital and needs our prayers.

God has been truly faithful through this whole journey however Jerrod has hit a glitch in his healing process. Last night at two different times his heart stopped for 10-20 seconds. Before they could use paddles or any assistance for him, his heart went back to normal. They have run lots of tests on his heart and everything looks good. Aren't sure why this is happening. They have put him back on the critical list. Our prayer would be that they could figure things out and we could get him back on a road to recovery. God has seen us through everything else and he will see us through this too. Thank you for your prayers.

From Emily Goodenow:

Hi all! It's Emily here :) I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the prayers and support. It really means so much to me. "Ruth had 3 major grafts done in major arteries. The doctor told Harold that she had a massive heart attack sometime in the past. He said he cannot think of any time she would have had one.

They plan to get her up in a chair tonight and walking tomorrow. He did say she looks bad right now."

My friend Ruth Cody's surgery has been postponed until Wednesday. I don't know what time the doctor had to reschedule because he has an emergency. Please continue to pray for Ruth and family.

Update on Emily Goodenow from Marne Stollenwerk:

Praise and plodding. That is how I would describe the last few days. Your prayers are being answered so I'll start with the praises... #1 Emily's white blood cell count continues to go up which is a desired outcome of the medication that caused so much excruciating pain. #2 Her pain is under control and Dina has determined the dosage of pain medicine that keeps the pain tolerable so with the next round of chemo they should be able to stay ahead of it. #3 A $5000 medicine, needed to address fertility issues arising as a side effect of the chemo, is being covered by a charitable foundation. Praise God! Thank you for continued prayer support.

Now the plodding... Emily gets very tired very easily. Her hair has started to fall out which isn't a surprise BUT that it's happening after only one round of chemo is a surprise. Her appetite is still diminished so she is losing weight. Lastly, she is supposed to return to Mayo in two weeks which is hard to look forward to.

Thankfully, they have met wonderful Christian providers throughout this journey. Even in the dark days, God's handiwork is evident. Thank you for praying for Emily and her family.

9.20.2021

From Betty Ostrom:

Please pray for my friend Ruth Cody. I just found out she is having heart by-pass surgery Monday (today) at 10 am in Orlando. Pray for the peace of her family also, Ruth's husband, Harold, and her 3 adult BlindBlind children, Dennis, Beth and Linda.

Update From Carol Hartman:

Continued prayer for my friend Debbie and her family. Her son, Tom, is now in heaven with his brother. Thank you for praying.

(Original Prayer Request From Carol Hartman:)

Prayer for friend’s son, Tom. In critical condition with COVID at a hospital in Vermont. She just moved from here back to Vermont to be near son and grandchildren. Already lost a son to suicide and not sure how she will deal with more loss.

From Kay Walters:

Asking for prayer. My landlord, Maria, is coming from NY this week and bringing a realtor over to walk through the house. I mentioned a possibility of her working with me so I could stay and rent but she would only talk of selling the house and that my 6 months are up in October. The packing up and still trying to find something in this area is really overwhelming to me without Jim. She started to mention that her realtor mentioned that she might sell it with me in the house but didn’t say more. I need to find a two bedroom place to live that is within my budget. I’m in serious need of prayer. Thank You

Update From Leah Rictor:

Thank you for praying for my ministry counterpart, coworker, friend. Jacque now resides in God’s Presence. Please pray for her family, especially for their military daughter to get appropriate bereavement leave to be with her family. Please pray for our work team as we gather with the family this week to celebrate Jacque’s life, and for God to help me do both my role and Jacque’s role. I’m overwhelmed.

9.17.2021

From Pearl McLeod:

Please pray for John. He fell last week, hitting his head and bruising his torso. There was no internal brain damage or bleeding. But he is still feeling very sore all over. Thanks for your prayers.

From Church Website; From Henry:

Please pray for Tracy who has recently been widowed, for God to comfort her and for financial provision for her.

Update on Emily Goodenow:

Following a painful two days, Emily is more comfortable. She still has pain in her low back but has gotten a little sleep and has requested food. So, PRAISE. In addition, her white blood cell count is rising which is a good thing! Grateful for the little blessings that keep a flicker of hope enduring. Thank you for continued prayers. Dina said their biggest need continues to be good sleep and pain management.

Update From Steve Hamel:

Please pray for my grandson Xander. There is a gofundme page set up to raise funds for medical expenses. To learn more, click on the link below.

From Peggy Myers:

Al Waltz is in the hospital with abdominal issues. Please pray the issue can be identified and health returns.

From Kathy Lanford:

Praise report for the prayer chain!

My colonoscopy was completely clear today and I don’t have to go back for that for 10 years!

Please keep praying about the DNC Hysteroscopy that will happen on December 15th.

Also, my friend Danielle's Mom and Stepdad have symptoms of the Covid virus and are going to get tested. Please pray for them.

From Charlie Myers:

Thank you for praying for my mother, sister, and great-nephew. We spent the day with them yesterday. We are thankful with Linda she is experiencing no pain and it is her left foot in the boot so she can drive the household to various appointments. Mom is showing the benefit of physical therapy that continues after her fall. She expects the doctor to release her next week from having the leg dressing changed routinely. She continues to do therapy on her hand since the cast was removed two weeks ago. Linda’s son-in-law has Covid – not hospitalized but been very sick for two weeks. Please pray for Randy and his wife, Heidi, who live nearby.

9.16.2021

Condolences to Bill and Mary Belle DeWitt family in the passing of their son, Eric early this week.

Please keep the entire family in prayer during this difficult time. Service arrangements are still being finalized and will be sent in a timely manner.

From Ric Schopke:

A friend of ours asks for prayer warriors to pray for her brother, who has major health problems, and his adult daughter who lives with him and has severe mental health issues.

From Charlie Myers:

Please pray for my sister, Linda, who fractured her left foot and is in a boot for about a month. My sister cares for our Mom (who has her 98th birthday next month) and her grandson (25) who is still staying with her while receiving in home rehab for Guillain Barre syndrome as he is still not able to climb stairs to his apartment.

Update From Marne Stollenwerk on Emily Goodenow:

Please continue to pray for pain management. Dina said they had about 20 straight hours of living hell. Pain meds were tripled (doc approved) before pain was tolerable. As you can imagine, they are exhausted. The medication causing this pain is taken post chemo so this is not a one and done scenario. Please continue to pray for relief and rest.

Update from Ruthie Persaud following surgery on broken bones in her arm:

I've been having severe pain and I'm unable to move my thumb due to it adding more pain. I'll be calling to see if this is normal. because I was able to do the movements they requested me to avoid stiffness up until Tuesday this week when I woke up in severe pain.

9.14.2021

Update from Dina Goodenow:

Emily will be admitted-don’t know cause of low bp- BP didn’t register on Fire dept bp cuff-they were able to get a radial Pulse (Checked wrist pulse). She passed out in hallway at ER she says due to BP! Effusion around heart is stable-not causing issues-has small pleural effusion (fluid around lung-small)…checking for sepsis/infection, and vascular auto immune issues.

Plan on Rechecking heart with more detailed test to be sure fluid not pressing on heart (“tamponad”), drawing blood and urine for cultures to be sure no infection, also checking for blood clot in lungs as more common with lymphoma.

From Marne Stollenwerk regarding 21 y/o church member, Emily Goodenow:

Please pray! Emily is experiencing severe leg and abdominal pain. They are headed to the ER. Please pray favor and that this isn't a blood clot or other serious issue. Thank you.

From Lynn Knight:

Xander Murphy, my great grandson, (my son Steve Hamel's grandson) is having a serious surgery on October 21st in North Carolina. Xander is only 18 months old. He has a tumor in his nose and the roots are growing towards his brain. After the operation they will put Zander in an induced coma for 7 days and he will remain in the hospital for another 14 to 21 days. Please pray for baby Zander's surgery, healing, and peace for the family. Thank you.

From Frank and Ginny Morse:

Our daughter Cindy and family, in Bay City, Texas, 45 minutes from Houston and only 30 minutes from the gulf are experiencing heavy wind and rain and the tropical depression hadn't even made landfall; May become a hurricane. I would appreciate everyone's prayers for their safety and not too much damage to their home. And of course for all of those living in the course of the storm.

From June Luxon:

Please pray for my 40 year old nephew, Jason, who has liver issues and is back in the ER. He has a blood clot in his arm that is swollen to twice the size. He will be administering blood thinner shots to his belly for the next few weeks. Jason also has Covid. Please pray for his complete healing. Thank you.

9.13.2021

From Donna Elliott:

Michelle Wilson just called & said she was tested for covid & it came out positive. The hospital is going to keep her for a long time. She's asking for a 2nd test since she doesn't believe she has covid since she's been vaccinated, plus no symptoms of covid. She is concerned about losing her spot at the assisted living place in Belleview. Pray for a quick recovery & to keep her spot at Higher Ground Assisted Living.

From Leah Rictor:

My coworker Jacque with whom I work closely, is in her third round of cancer, and this time it has returned with a vengeance, spreading into 4 major areas, including lungs, brain, and bone. They found it two weeks ago when she was hospitalized with pneumonia. Last night she was hospitalized again and began having seizures and strokes. She is now unresponsive. Please pray for God to heal her and to give wisdom to her family and medical team as decisions are made. My heart is breaking.

9.11.2021

From Jacqueline Dubois via our church website:

Please keep Jayden M Bien -aime in your prayers because he is 2 years and 4 months old and has yet to speak.

Update from Peggy Denton on Jerrod Blair:

Jerrod had an amazing day. No more sedation medication but it will take some time to run out of his system and the ecmo circuit. All numbers are great. Telling us what he wants and is responding to people

Update from Marne Stollenwer:

Emily Goodenow has been discharged and headed home (9/10) for much needed rest. They had a whirlwind stay full of tests, noisy construction at the hospital, and a sleepless night, but PRAISE the Lord, no serious cause for the low blood pressure. It seems to be a side effect of one of her meds. Thanking God for that answer!

Hopefully, today will be the beginning of rest and healing so her body is ready for the next round of chemo in a couple of weeks.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. I know Emily would appreciate cards if you'd like to mail them to the house. Due to risk of Covid exposure in her immunocompromised state, personal visits are discouraged but please know the family is grateful for everything being done to support them.

Please pray! After a safe return to Orlando, Emily Goodenow is being taken to the ER for symptoms of low blood pressure... lightheadedness, fainting.

9.8.2021

Update From Peggy Denton on Jerrod Blair:

Today was a fantastic day. We are off one of the ecmo circuits. He held fantastic blood gases and vitals. We were also able to wean more sedation and he is much more awake. He answered questions (shook head yes or no), opened eyes (about half way), and did what we asked (example wiggle toes), and his x-rays look better. Thank you for praying! -- Megan (Jerrod's wife)

From Susan Barnes:

I am in the hospital (FL. Hospital/Rollins) and am having surgery this Friday morning (9/10). My blood sugar was dangerously low. I have calcification on the abdominal aorta. I am nauseous and unable to eat and am having discomfort. Please pray for the surgery and my complete healing. Please pray for peace for me and my family. Thank you!

Update on Ruthie Persaud:

Thank you for your prayers. My surgery yesterday (9/7) was a success and I am back home. Please pray for my arm and bones to completely heal and for me to have full mobility in my arm, wrist, hand. Thank you!

9.7.2021

Update From Marne Stollenwerk:

Thank you for your continued prayers and interests in supporting the Goodenow family. Emily is in her last hours of chemo round #1. Overall, she has handled it well, although she has lost her appetite. She is trying to eat, realizing the importance to her recovery, but it is difficult. There was also a small issue with her fluid levels. It seems the pharmacists are generous with fluid in the cocktail so she had 7 lbs of excess fluid build up. Nothing a little lasix couldn't handle. The doctor said they will move forward with plans to discharge her tomorrow, will remove her PICC line in the morning following chemo, and they will head back to Orlando. There is some concern regarding the impact chemo will have on fertility, so studies will continue once they return home. Please pray for a consistent message in that regard. Dina said they are seeing the nursing shortage first hand (nurses leaving due to burnout and better pay elsewhere), however, they have received excellent attentive care. Overall, PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE! Treatment is going as planned and her response has been good so far. The next round of chemo will likely be the end of Sept. or beginning of Oct.

I forgot to mention: Emily decided she was not going to drop the two virtual classes she is taking at UF. She has worked out a plan with her professors to allow flexibility with due dates and projects. I was so glad to hear this because I know it is nice to have something to focus on, something to make you feel like you are moving forward, a goal in mind.

So, if all goes well, she will be home on Wednesday. Feel free to send cards, contact them through their email address on the MealTrain page (below), and share the MealTrain page with people you know who will pray for them.

From Donna Elliott:

Update on my Nancy Hidden-Horn prayer request. She is quite bruised but was released last night and is home!

(Original Prayer RequestFrom Donna Elliott):

Lyssa Ritchhart told me that late this afternoon (9/4) her grandma, Nancy Hidden-Horn, fell and was taken via ambulance to the hospital. She was having a lot of back pain. Also repairs on her house from the water damage are moving along slowly and might not be completed until the end of October. They are still staying in a motel.

Please pray for healing for Nancy and for quality work and God's timing on her home repairs.

From Molly Tims:

Praise: Mary Beth made it safely through Ida is now in Boston. Her new job starts on Sunday at the New England Aquarium. She is still waiting on a truck to pick up her household goods in MS. Pray that her items get picked up alright and get to her in a timely manner.

Praise/Prayer: Sarah Lillian has currently received 2 job offerings this morning! Pray for her as she decides which direction to go. Sarah Lillian has a lot of decisions to make in the following days as she decides which job to take, how soon to move and where to locate when she gets there.

From Tracy Harden:

Michelle Wilson is in the hospital with sepsis & a UTI. Can you add her to the prayer list? Thank you! Tracy

Update from Marne Stollenwerk:

Thank you for your continued prayers and generosity! Emily Goodenow has begun round one of chemotherapy so there is a bit of consistency for the next few days. The first round should last five days and they are hopeful to head back to Orlando on Wednesday. We are believing NO complications!

Huge praise for a family friend who has arranged deeply discounted hotel accommodations for Dina while Emily is in treatment, and each time she returns! While Dina can sleep in Emily's room at Mayo, she doesn't have shower access etc., so this is a wonderful and unexpected blessing. Same family friend delivered food to them tonight. Your generosity provides tangible and practical help in the day to day. Thank you ALL!

I know Emily, Dina, Tom and Hannah are so grateful for your support and prayers. It seems they can take a deep breath for now. I will keep you posted if there are any changes this weekend but let's hope for no updates until she is discharged next week! No news is good news! Have a blessed weekend.

9.2.2021

From Ruthie Persaud:

Please pray that the neurologist is able to send out my clearance to the surgical facility by the end of this week so that my surgery can happen, as planned, on Tuesday.

From Christine La Forest:

Thanks so much for praying for me, I had the full hip replacement done on 8/20. I went back to the Dr this week. He is concerned that the incision is still draining, because it should have stopped by now. If it does not stop by the time I go back to him on Tuesday, he may end up having to open me back up to clean it well. Please pray that it stops. He does not want to have to do that, and I sure don't want that either. Thanks, knowing you are all praying gives me strength.

From Ruthie Persaud:

I'm having surgery this Tuesday for broken bones in my arm. Thank you for praying.

Update From Marne Stollenwerk:

At 7:30 this morning, Emily Goodenow had a PICC line inserted followed by a thoracentesis to drain fluid from her lungs. They were able to remove one liter of fluid which should help with breathing, however, Emily said she can't tell because it hurts too bad from the procedure! 🙂 There is GOOD NEWS: The RN says she hears much better air flow. ALSO, the ECHO, MRI, and PET scans are all clear, showing no signs of metastasis! We are praising God for this news! They have started an immune drug - she'll be sleepy - and around 9 pm they will start chemotherapy.

Thank you for continued prayers!

Update regarding my son, Jared: Thank you for your prayers.

Jared lost 10 lbs in 3 days. Lost his sense of smell. His wife, Lynnea, is doing better. Two of their small children have covid as well. They have a total of 4 small children. Jared and Lynnea are unable to work. Therefore, they are not getting a paycheck because they don't have PTO (Paid Time Off) where they work. They need a healing and financial miracle.

Update from Peggy Denton:

Thank you for praying! Jarred's surgery went well. His numbers are up to where they are happy. Please continue to keep this young man in your prayers.

They are doing another surgery on Jerrod Blair this morning to replace his two canullas with larger tubes and a second ECMO machine.

Update From Stacey Doran:

I wanted to thank you for the prayers and ask you to continue to lift up the family. The Regeniron treatment seemed to have helped my nephew as he is only exhibiting cold-like symptoms. My niece is just tired all the time. But now my sister has it and hers is more flu-like. She had the treatment yesterday so we are praying it helps shorten her illness.

Again thank you for the prayers. Keeping Jake out of the hospital was our main concern and your prayers have definitely worked😇

(Original Prayer Request from Stacey Doran):

My nephew, Jake, has tested positive for Covid. He is 21 and vaccinated, but has Cerebral Palsy and is immuno-compromised. He is receiving the monoclonal antibody treatment today and we are praying it works. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. His sister brought it home from school so feels guilty. Mom and dad are negative but need prayers for strength and peace.

From June Luxon:

My nephew Jason, who has a liver issue, is back in the hospital but this time with Covid. He's 40 years old. Please pray for his complete healing. He's also in pain with the drainage in his liver. He's very weak and needs a miracle from God.

From Molly Flory:

Please pray for Marsha Westenskow and her husband, Phil. They are slowly regaining their energy following diagnosis with Covid three weeks ago.

From Peggy Myers:

Let’s pray for all who are recovering from Covid for a return to health.

Update from Ruthie Persaud:

My cousin just died. Please pray for strength and peace.

(Original Prayer Request from Ruthie:)

Please pray for peace for our family. Our cousin has had a heart attack and we were told there's nothing more they can do. He is on a ventilator machine.

From Peggy Denton:

Pray for Jerrod Blair. They have him in surgery (8/31 at 1:30pm) as he is not waking up and he is at 100% on a ventilator. They are putting in another tube for ECMO in a main artery as he was not holding saturation. Please pray for peace for his wife Megan.

From Greg Numbers:

My oldest son, Jarred, and his wife, Lynnea, have been hit hard with Covid. Both are in excellent physical shape and generally healthy but high fevers and other unsettling symptoms are limiting their functionality. They have four children they are taking care of in the midst of their sickness.

Update on Emily Goodenow from Marne Stollenwerk:

Yesterday, was the first of three appointments with specialists in Florida at The Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Today, Tom, Emily, and Dina are in Jacksonville at Mayo Clinic. Tomorrow (Wednesday), they have their last appointment with an oncologist in Winter Park. He would coordinate care with MD Anderson.

PRAYER REQUESTS: Consistency in the suggested plan of care, total healing, continued peace in the journey.

Also, pray for Hannah as she starts her college classes today. I can imagine difficulty focusing on curriculum. Lastly, please pray for God's continued favor in the process, including financial protection and provision. I know the family is grateful for your prayers and believe the accessibility to appointments, results, plans, etc. are ALL because of the prayers you have prayed on their behalf.

From Ruthie Persaud:

Please pray for peace for our family. Our cousin has had a heart attack and we were told there's nothing more they can do. He is on a ventilator machine. Also an uncle was killed. Two different families. We haven't found out which hospital my cousin is in since his mom doesn't have a cell phone to contact them. We're hoping to hear soon.

Please pray for my sister Christine. Her son, Carlos, has Covid. Please pray for his healing and for Christine to be able to return to nursing school following her time of quarantine.

Please pray for my healing. I broke my arm and have to have surgery.

8.30.2021

From Karen Abell:

Please pray for the Lord to orchestrate the hiring of a Christian teacher for our On The Rock Preschool

From June Luxon:

Please pray healing for my nephew Jason. He has an infection with a liver issue and has been in and out of the hospital. Pray that he would put his faith and salvation in Jesus.

I just sent my sister a bible that she loves and plans to read. She is 87 years old and has kidney failure but is unable to do dialysis. Please pray for her healing and God's timing and anointing for when I call her and try to lead her to the Lord. She has never wanted a relationship with the Lord so it's a praise that she is excited to receive the Bible I gave her and she wants to read it beginning to end.

From Stacey Doran:

My nephew, Jake, has tested positive for Covid. He is 21 so vaccinated, but has Cerebral Palsy and is immuno-compromised. He is receiving the monoclonal antibody treatment today and we are praying it works. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. His sister brought it home from school so feels guilty. Mom and dad are negative but need prayers for strength and peace. Thank you!

8.29.2021

From Molly Tims:

As Ida bears down on the Louisiana/Mississippi coast area, please keep my daughter, Mary Beth, in your prayers. She is all packed and ready to move. She was supposed to leave Monday, now the moving company is getting there on Wednesday. Pray for her safety during the storm, that she CAN leave on Wednesday and for traveling mercies (she is traveling with her dog, 2 cats and aquatic animals.). Her first day at her new job is next Sunday so she doesn’t have a lot of extra time. She will be driving from Gulfport, MS to Boston, MA.

My other daughter, Sarah Lillian, will find out this week if she gets the job in NC working with foster children. This is the direction she wants to go. Pray for God’s will in the job, housing and finding a new home church. Thank you!

From Henry; submitted on our website:

Please pray for God to heal Tobias who has leg spasms.

From Peggy Myers:

Pray protection for all in the path of Ida and the surrounding areas..

From former members, Ross and Michelle Miller:

We had water damage happen in our "new to us" home just before Christmas last year that shortly turned into a mold problem, contained in the kitchen.

Our kitchen then had to be gutted to the bare studs in the walls as the result of mold remediation. Thankfully, the mold problem rec'd certified clearance ~ end of Jan-2021 so we PTL for that!!! Then the harder part began, in dealing with insurance, bank and worst of all, many contractors since last year.

All that worked out except for 1 contractor (the main company & small business hired for our kitchen & flooring replacement/restoration), who has been the hardest person to work with for past 8 months with endless delays, excuses & worse than that, things being broken by him that are still in disrepair.

Since contractor still had not finished work as of last month, we withheld final payment for kitchen & flooring until numerous defects were complete & kitchen put back together.

We were recently notified by his atty that a lien on our home has been officially completed by Seminole county.

Please pray we find the right legal help to save our home. We have been in this battle 8 months and appreciate your prayers for God’s guidance and protection. MANY THX for caring for us & lifting us up DAILY in PRAYERS as we go thru this rough time.

From Betty Hayner:

Our 52 yrs. old daughter, Judy, has Covid-19, her 54 yr old husband, Theron, as well. Their 32 yr old daughter, Jordan, is recovering from it, and is coming over every day, after work, to help out, and their 23 yrs. old daughter, Megan, who lives at home with mom and dad, and is doing the best she can to take care of everything she can, tested negative today. None have been vaccinated.

I’m cooking all the evening meals, with some help from a niece. I’m afraid it’s going to become too much work for Megan soon, but I don’t think I should go over, even though I’ve been vaccinated. I won’t leave Al for one thing.

Of course, please pray for Judy and Theron to recover quickly, and for Megan to stay negative.

8.28.2021

Update on Presley from Grandmother, Susan Hart:

Presley had the MRI today and received a great report. The brain damage from the cardiac arrest is minimal. She is having neuro storms from damage to the basal ganglia, but this can heal. We are so thankful for this victory, and now we need prayers for lung and trachea healing to allow removal of ventilator. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, prayer warriors.

Request from Peggy Myers:

Praise From Ileana Felipe:

Thank you for praying for my cousin George. His open heart surgery today went well. The doctors say everything looks good. Please continue to pray for his recovery and for healing from cancer. Thank you.

Update from Marne Stollenwerk:

As of today, Emily Goodenow has an appointment with Moffitt on Monday and Mayo on Tuesday. She has a virtual appointment with a fertility preservation specialist tomorrow, so they will leave PA on Thursday. Dina said they look forward to getting home and would love having in-home treatments but currently they've had no luck with finding an oncologist in Orlando. They are awaiting a contact at Shands.

She also said Emily will attempt two virtual classes with UF but has dropped her full course load this semester.

Pray for healing, finding an Orlando oncologist and treatment center, mental health, grace with Bright Futures (scholarship) to continue despite part time course load, as well as, overall financial protection, and safe return home.

If anyone has had difficulty with the Meal Train page but would like to receive updates, please contact me at marne5009@gmail.com and I will send an invite from the page so you can follow updates, continued prayer requests and support for Emily and family.

Thank you for lifting them in prayer. They are exhausted but have peace only God can give.

8.23.2021

From Ileana Felipe:

Please add my cousin George to your prayers. He's having open heart surgery tomorrow. He has cancer too.

Update from Marne Stollenwerk on Emily Goodenow:

I've just communicated with Dina. The results from Emily's biopsy are not good. The tissue did not provide a confirmed diagnosis so it has been sent to additional specialists and the NIH for confirmation. The oncologist said the cancer appears to be a B-cell type lymphoma but there are 3 types: Hodgkin's, a grey zone B lymphoma and, the one they are leaning toward, primary mediastinal B cell. It is aggressive. Each type has a different treatment so, again, we wait for results. If it is primary mediastinal B cell lymphoma, Dina said she has to line up a heme oncologist who specializes in lymphoma ASAP, get Emily to a fertility specialist if she desires children in the future, and she will have to have a central line inserted for the chemo treatments. They encourage treatments to start within a month and expect at least 6 months of chemo.

This is not the news we wanted. Dina said Emily is really struggling with the news today and "that's ok, but she's going to need her fighting spirit to kick in soon".

Please continue to pray for Emily and the entire family. A miracle would be very much appreciated! Please pray for strength as they walk through this, pray for a lymphoma specialist who is available and experienced, pray for Emily's heart and mind, safe travels, and God's continued peace over the family as they wait.

Update From Peggy Denton on Jerrod Blair:

Jerrod had a setback today.

We have found an infection so they are starting more antibiotics to treat and they had to move all of his lines which Jerrod hated.

His agitation made his vitals go all over the place.

They were not the best today, but when I left they had stabilized.

We had to go back up on sedation again to keep him calm.

They say that the infection is making his body use up his oxygen so that's why his o2 has been lower.

Praying once the antibiotics kick in more his saturation will be able to rise again and we will be able to lower sedation.

8.22.2021

From the Church:

Prayers for healing for Carol who is in Winter Park Hospital in ICU.

From Ruthie Persaud:

I had an accident and fractured my arm in two places. Please pray it heals properly and to keep me in the strength God has given me to keep calm and control the pain to where I don't think or feel it without taking pain meds.

Update from Marne Stollenwerk on Emily Goodenow:

The Goodenows had a nice relaxing weekend with family. Today at 10 a.m. they meet with the oncologist to go over test results and formulate a care plan. Tomorrow they meet with a PA who will be their point of contact and care coordinator after they return to FL. Their goal is to begin the drive back to FL on Wednesday. Praise that Tom's employer has extended grace on return to work dates!

Please pray for safe travel, a definitive care plan, availability of FL physicians to provide care, financial protection, and God's unrelenting peace.

I will email follow-ups through Wednesday, then updates will be posted to their Meal Train page. If you want to receive ongoing updates, please go to the Meal Train page and participate.

8.21.2021

From Lisa Haggadone:

My best friend with cancer had another scan done to see how the aggressive treatment has done. Prayers that Paige finally gets some good news next week.

Our neighbor also committed suicide by cop (at least that’s how it was reported) just outside of our house last week and Matt’s mom was here in the house alone when it happened. She’s having a really tough time dealing with it all. She needs prayers that she finds the right counselor to help her through. Pray we get a hold of the right people to also fix the bullet holes in our house (none made it through. God is good!). We are all physically okay, but Matt’s mom, Sally, is struggling. I’d imagine our neighbor's sister needs prayers, too. She and he lived together.

From Nina Dean from my daughter, Kathy:

Please tell the prayer chain GOD RULES!!!

My friend, Jen’s biopsy came back benign!!! She has to go back in 6 months.

Glory to God for Answered Prayer!!!

From Peggy Myers:

This morning, I heard from my high school classmate in the Jax area giving me a report on the Police Officers in the Jax and surrounding areas battling Covid. She is the widow survivor of an officer killed in the line of duty years ago who supports families in the loss of their officers. Her words are sobering, “…this new strain of Covid is deadly. I've lost 4 Officers in the last 2 weeks (all had been vaccinated) and one of my departments in Tallahassee lost an officer one day and the next day a civilian employee. That Sheriff's Office now has over 30 employees testing positive. I also lost one Officer in Lafayette County and 3 other private individuals that are friends of one of my widow survivors, all in the same week. And this morning was told an Officer from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has also died from Covid.”  These are men and women risking their lives to keep us safe. Let’s pray for protection for all our law enforcement personnel and the peace of their families as they leave their homes daily to ‘serve and protect’.

From Tem Roberts:

Please pray for my sister Brenda. She's in the hospital with kidney failure. Thank you and God bless.

From Donna Elliott:

Please pray for Presley, 7-month-old granddaughter of Susan Hart (previous evening study group member). Presley had heart surgery back in February, and something was off with her heart pressure, so they did a heart catheterization. She went into cardiac arrest and is now stable but on life support. Please pray for her healing and for strength for Susan's daughter, Samantha, and her husband Tanner and their whole family.

From Kim:

John and I are going out of town for a couple of days. We have almost been in 2 accidents since leaving the house 10 minutes ago!! Please pray for traveling mercies.

From Christine Laforest:

I have broken my hip and am having hip replacement surgery tomorrow (8/20) at Advent Health South. Please pray for me for the surgery and for the recovery to go smoothly.

From Gail Porter

Minor prayer request compared to all the serious and alarming requests our church family is praying for right now...but could you please pray I will recover from bronchitis before I leave for Oregon on Aug 23. With the medications I have now, they predict I should feel better by Sunday! Also, thank you in advance for your prayers for special times with my family and God's words for them. Our first get-together is August 29.

From Nina Dean for my daughter, Kathy:

No obvious cancer from the amount of cells she was able to get from her findings -came back normal. Today they called me and I have an appointment on 8/31 at 10:30 with a specialist - Dr Mitchell Hoffman through Moffitt to discuss setting up a DNC procedure. Please continue to pray for healing.

From Georgean Himes:

Thank you for continued prayers for Ray (we’re in TN). He’s on day 5 in hospital for lingering covid pneumonia, needing bipap machine to beathe and keep oxy rate at 90%, and his heart goes in and out of A-fib. His spirt is high, the chaplain sees him several times a day for prayer. It’s a very busy floor and I’m sure the other patients and staff need our prayers as well.

From Charlie and Peggy Myers:

Please pray for long-time friends since we came to Orlando, as he is under Hospice care in his final days. Today they celebrate 65 years of marriage, initials J & K. Our hearts are very heavy.

Update from Marne Stollenwerk:

Thank you for your prayers! Today, Dina has communicated with Medical Records to ensure everything is available for pick-up on Monday when they are scheduled to discuss the pathology report during an appointment with hematology/oncology. They anticipate a discharge today because all tests and biopsies are complete and Emily's pain and anxiety are controlled. The family has accommodations through Sunday. Dina did tell me that moving from place to place is a bit taxing, but she is so grateful for the provision! We all know there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed ;o)

Also, Dina expressed sincere gratitude, humility, and surprise at the generosity people have shown in giving, praying, providing. They are so touched and grateful. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to their family. I can share that they have peace in the storm! God continues to meet their needs and they are deeply touched by the generosity of so many. Thank you for helping them.

Please pray that the pathology report will be available on Monday as anticipated. Pray that God uses their testimony to reach their loved ones who do not know the saving grace and hope of Christ. Continued prayer for healing and for treatment to be in place in Florida when they return, for ongoing housing, for financial protection, for Hannah's cough/cold, and for grace with college start dates (both girls), and travel home.

If you would like to follow their journey we will begin posting updates, prayer requests, etc on the Meal Train page created for Emily. You can find it here: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/wk6v4q

From Marilyn Smith:

My brother, Al, is in rehab in Melbourne. Please cover him in prayer.
